The agricultural estate Venturini Baldini was founded in 1976 on a historic estate in the hills between Parma and Reggio Emilia, in the province of Reggio Emilia. The hills reach an altitude of 370 metres and provide an excellent microclimate to grow vines, with the sun breaking the winter fog and cool greens tempering the summer heats. The 130-hectare estate, comprising 30 hectares of vineyards as well as woods and pastures, was one of the first in Emilia Romagna to obtain an organic certification.
The estate is not only part of a splendid naturalistic scenery, but has also a rich historical heritage Built on Matildic foundations, the current Villa Manodori dates back to the early 16th century, and still today recalls the ancient glories of the noble families who called it home, from the Marquises Fontanelli, to the Counts Galliani, the Counts Ancini, and finally in the 19th century, as residence of the Marquis Manodori.
Since 1976 the brand Venturini Baldini has been synonymous of highest quality wines made in Emilia. Authentic and born in the tradition of Emilian winemaking, our wines innovative and inspiring.
With a manual harvest,
our team of oenologists and consultants carefully select the grapes to guarantee the best organoleptic and olfactory characteristics.
Our vineyards occupy about a quarter of the 130-hectare estate and grow, for the most part, in the hilly area at an altitude between 300 and 400 metres above sea level. The rows are laid on clay and sandy soils with southeast and southwest exposure,
and with an organic cultivation whose production of c. 8 tons per hectare is voluntarily limited to ensure the quality of our grapes. In addition Lambrusco grape varieties including Sorbara, Grasparossa and Salamino, the estatealso grows Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Pinot Nero, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Grigio.
Our Acetaia di Canossa has its origins in a historic vinegar factory, housed in a building from the 17th century, located in the upper part of the estate. A place that represents the important historical matrix of our vinegar production, whose heritage is represented, among other things, by a battery made up of more than 400 small barrels from different woods. Made of juniper, oak, cherry, ash and chestnut wood, each barrel gives the vinegar its own unmistakable aroma.
The long journey of our vinegars in their individual “treasure chests” follows the strict dictates of the local regime, which provide us with products of Emilian excellence. In addition to the Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Reggio Emilia, Venturini Baldini also produces exquisite condiments and balsamic vinegars of Modena IGP.
